Paper or pixels: choosing your wedding invitation

Published 28 May 2026

Choosing how to invite your guests is a surprisingly big decision. Here's how we'd think it through — gently, and without the sales pitch.

Paper has a romance to it

There's no denying the feel of a thick card in an envelope. If a printed keepsake matters to you, keep it — many couples send a small paper "save the date" and handle the details digitally.

Where digital quietly wins

For everything after the first impression, a digital invitation tends to make life easier:

A simple rule of thumb

If a piece of information might change, or you need a reply to it, let it live online. If it's purely sentimental, paper is a lovely place for it. Some of the happiest weddings we've seen do both.

Whatever you choose, make it feel like you — that's the part guests remember.
